Summer is fast approaching, which means the local high schools and athletes are gearing up for summer strength training. It's about this time every year when I start to get more and more questions about training high school athletes. I love it.

In this episode of the R/Strong Podcast, I break down a couple questions I've received recently from some high school coaches...

How do you train volleyball players?

This particular coach has a couple athletes that are interested in the weight room but don't want to train like football players. If you're a coach, I'm sure you've heard that a time or a thousand.

How young can athletes start training?

Spoiler alert... it's never too young to be doing SOMETHING. No, I'm not recommending first graders should be ripping deadlifts and back squats. "Training" should always be age and skill appropriate. If you have a kid interested in the weight room, get them to someone who knows what they are doing.

I also talked through a question from a recent graduate that is interested in possibly becoming a strength coach.
